“I worked in law enforcement for over 20 years in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida before retiring to become a Certified Teacher. My background includes, but is not limited to, education and practical experience in working with women in distress, child abuse, criminal investigations, detective work on murder cases, as well as experience in Internal Affairs.
I have observed Johnny in his work environment as well as at social gatherings. In both settings, he has exhibited goodwill toward everyone he has come into contact with. He is a generous employer and friend, a hard worker, and a natural diplomat.
I have seen a lot of things I’d like to forget as a Detective Sergeant and I have certainly been exposed to all manner of deviates, criminals, and sociopaths. I have also had to deal with my more than my share of people who abuse the system. I know how important it is to pay attention to gut instinct. With Johnny, my gut instinct tells me that there is no possibility that he would ever attack anyone unless it was self-defense or unless he was profoundly provoked – or both. Since I have known him he has never exhibited a single behavior or sentiment that would indicate that he is predisposed to commit any sort of violence against another human being. The opposite is true – I have seen him go to great lengths to protect others from themselves; acting to mediate hostilities even to the point that he allowed someone to strike him without striking back. If anything, I would say that in an explosive situation, Johnny would end up being the victim because he is so willing to expose himself in order to diffuse conflict.”
